Fleas

What are fleas?

Fleas are around 1-2 millimeters long and may look like a dark black speck. They are wingless and laterally flat and their main source of food is blood.

Fleas can carry disease so it’s important to be vigilant and eradicate them quickly. If you comb your pet with a flea comb and see dark bugs inside it, you’ll know fleas are present.

Where are fleas found?

Pets can pick up fleas and bring them inside your home. If your cat or dog seems to be scratching a lot, it’s very possible they have fleas living in their fur. Fleas can also be found in pet bedding, resting areas, carpet and furniture.
