Norway rats are nocturnal creatures and are fond of nesting in a dark, safe location where food and water are available, such as under debris and between walls and floors. The Norway rat reaches sexual maturity in 2 months and can breed any time of the year. Annually, four to seven litters are quite common for this particular rodent, each containing eight to twelve young.
Norway Rats cannot survive long without water and mostly feed on meat and grain. But like most rodents, they will feed on any available food source if their preferable choice is unavailable.
