What are rats?

Rats have a pointed nose, large ears and a slender body. Rats are very smart, cautious, and afraid of new things. Rats can travel along walls and pipes. They can contaminate food and cause damage to structures.

Rats are capable of transmitting a variety of bacteria, viruses and diseases through their saliva, feces and urine.

Where are rats found?

Rats are usually found outdoors and prefer to live in secluded areas. If there are food sources, they will burrow and nest close to or inside structures. Rats can squeeze through a hole the size of a quarter to enter a property.

Rat droppings, gnaw marks, tracks, burrows and rub marks are common indicators of the presence of rats.
